The Concept

Building off the themes of envisioning technology that we can connect to in novel, multi-sensory ways, I created Perceptive Object #4: The Light that Needed Space.

While the object looks like a regular light from afar, viewers start noticing its quirks as they come closer. If they get to an arm's length from the light, the light panels facing them turn off. All eight light panels react the same way, so if the viewer walks around the piece, all of them turn off one-by-one. If they come too close and try to hug it, all the lights turn off.

In short, this object is an introvert: it needs its space to shine.

The piece was presented at a public exhibition featuring various designers and architects from around Pakistan, held at Koel Gallery in Karachi
